Licensed School Psychologist
Let's get aquainted!
My studies in Psychology began in 2008 at the University of Cyprus, but my love for this field and for offering help to others had been counting years before that. Since I was a child involved in volunteering, specifically in scouting, my goal was to help every person in need and "to leave this world a little better than I found it."

I used the year after completing my degree to gain experiences, meet people who inspired my next steps, and decide on the specialty I would like to pursue at a later stage. I started working at the School for the Blind as an assistant to a person with disabilities, where I realized that the field of education and interacting with children were paths that suited me and where I would like to continue professionally. Thus, I decided to proceed with the field of School Psychology.

Since then, and with my registration in the Register of Registered School Psychologists, I work privately and continue to collaborate with families, public and private schools in the Nicosia district, with the ultimate goal of promoting children's mental health, raising awareness about mental health issues, and improving relationships between family, child, and school.
My Philosophy
"The Mechanism with Pulleys"

In a mechanism with many pulleys, when one pulley moves in any direction, it will also move all the other pulleys connected to it. If this pulley is a child or teenager facing some difficulty, it will affect the family system, the school, the peer group, and so on. A parent facing a challenge will also affect the other pulleys in their life. And this system never stops moving, whether forward or backward.

Therefore, "the problem," "the difficulty," "the symptom," or whatever we may call it, cannot be pinpointed to one individual and does not affect only that particular person. Collaboration between the child/teenager, family, school, and anyone else deemed useful, along with the use of empirically supported interventions, is essential for the mechanism to continue functioning.
My experience
Through the postgraduate program, I had the opportunity to collaborate with several schools, both for student evaluations and for conducting experiential workshops and presentations. In the private sector, I continue to provide evaluations and therapeutic interventions for children and adolescents, counseling, psychoeducation, and parental guidance, as well as counseling for teachers in private and public schools.

I have worked with children facing various difficulties and challenges such as anxiety, low self-confidence or self-image, delinquent behavior, victimization, etc. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and the Systemic Approach resonate with me the most, always guided by evidence-based interventions.
