Georgia Spyridou, MSc

Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Let's get aquainted!

Hi, I’m Georgia Spyridou, a licensed Clinical Psychologist with a passion for helping people navigate life’s challenges. My journey in psychology began with a BSc degree from the University of Reading in the UK, followed by an MSc in Clinical Psychology from the University of Nicosia in Cyprus, where I graduated with the highest distinction (Summa Cum Laude).

During my clinical practice, I had the privilege of working in diverse settings. At the Centre for Research and Counselling Services (KESY) at the University of Nicosia, I provided individual therapy, play therapy, couples therapy, and parental counseling—both in-person and online. I also worked with the Cyprus Association of Cancer Patients and Friends (PASYKAF), offering psychological support to individuals coping with cancer and their families. Additionally, my experience at the Psychiatric Clinic of Nicosia General Hospital allowed me to assist individuals facing a wide range of psychological disorders.

For my master’s thesis, I explored a topic close to my heart—a scoping review of the psychological impact of gaslighting in romantic and family relationships. This research deepened my understanding of the subtle yet profound ways manipulation can affect mental health, and it continues to shape my work today.

My Philosophy

“Know all the theories, master all the techniques, but as you touch a human soul be just another human soul”

Carl Jung.

In my mental health practice, I embrace an integrative approach centered on creating a unique form of treatment for each individual that will best suit their needs and goals. Understanding that for some people seeking psychological support is a big step, I offer a non-judgmental, confidential, compassionate and professional therapeutic environment.

My experience

In my psychotherapy practice, I focus on supporting children and adults who face a wide range of mental health challenges, including psychological trauma, grief, difficulties with emotion regulation and anxiety, depression, and personality disorders. I also work with couples navigating relationship struggles and with parents aiming to enhance their parenting and communication skills. My goal is to help foster resilience and emotional literacy within families, creating stronger, healthier connections.

Throughout my training, I’ve had the privilege of designing and implementing personalized therapeutic plans tailored to each client’s unique needs. I draw from a rich blend of approaches, including Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Schema Therapy, and Systemic Therapy, ensuring that every individual receives care that truly resonates with their personal journey.
